PARTY ENROLLMENT |
| |
|
| |
There are presently three political parties in Massachusetts:
- Democratic Party
3. Libertarian
- Republican Party
If you enroll in any of these parties, you may vote only in that party's primary.
Enrollment in a political party does not affect your right
to vote in the general elections. In the general election,
all voters receive the same ballot and vote for the candidate
of their choice regardless of party affiliation.
If you do not wish to enroll in a party, check the box beside
"no party" or "unenrolled" on the registration
form. If you choose the "unenrolled" status, you
may choose any party ballot at the state and presidential
primaries.
In addition to the three political parties listed above, there
are a number of "political designations" which are
listed below. If you enroll in a political designation, you
may NOT vote in any state or presidential primary. The political
designations are:
- Conservative Party
- Natural Law Party
- New World Council
- Reform Party
- Rainbow Coalition
- Green Party USA
- We the People
- Green Rainbow
- Constitution Party
- Timesizing Not Downsizing
- New Alliance Party
- Prohibition Party
- American Independent Party
- Socialist
- Interdependent 3rd Party
- America First Party
- Veterans Party America
- World Citizens Party
You may change your enrollment status by notifying the Elections
Office in writing or download the "Change
of Party" form (53kb PDF) and mail it to the office. By law, you must sign your name to this
change of enrollment status.

outstanding debts, or is an incumbent elected official.
